Simon has 20 years of experience supporting people in the Byron Shire and has a reputation for helping his clients explore psychological distress in a relaxed and supportive manner.
Simon utilises a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness. He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) for the treatment of trauma based distress.
Simon brings his experience and expertise to the counselling process to create a relaxed and supportive environment in which personal challenges can be explored. He is an advocate for working in conjunction with doctors and naturopaths to improve wellness results for his clients.
When applying psychological treatment, a minimum of six sessions is recommended. Initial sessions are used to make sense of the issues/challenges that a person is seeking to address. Remaining sessions are dedicated to formulating an approach and applying treatment to relieve the distress being experienced.
